Limb lengthening is a major orthopedic procedure, and although serious complications are rare, we believe every international patient deserves financial protection during recovery. That is why complication insurance is now included in every Wanna Be Taller surgery package at no additional cost. You do not need to purchase a separate policy: coverage is arranged for you as part of your treatment.
This insurance was created specifically for patients who travel to Turkey for medical treatment. If a complication occurs after your surgery, the medical expenses of its treatment are covered within the policy limits, whether you are still in Turkey or have already returned to your home country.
Please note that the insurance covers the patient only. Companion expenses are not included in the coverage.
What Does the Insurance Cover?
Your policy is valid for 6 months and provides the following coverage limits:
| Coverage Item | Maximum Limit |
|---|---|
| Medical treatment expenses | up to €30,000 |
| Accommodation support | up to €1,000 |
| Transportation support | up to €1,000 |
| Baggage loss or damage | up to €350 |
| Legal support | up to €500 |
| Treatment in your home country | up to €200 |
Within these limits, the insurance covers the treatment costs of complications related to your surgery performed in Turkey. Expenses are reimbursed according to the terms and conditions of the policy.

Which Complications Are Covered?
Situations in which patients can benefit from the insurance after limb lengthening surgery include:
- Infection requiring hospitalization
- Emergency situations such as embolism, including intensive care and hospital treatment
- Non-union or delayed union of the bone and related additional treatments such as grafting
- Implant or nail related problems, including bending, breakage or mechanical failure
- Nerve damage or neurological complications
- Medical interventions related to joint stiffness and restricted range of motion
- Tendon problems or muscle imbalances
In these situations, the necessary medical treatment is carried out, and the expenses that fall within the policy scope are reimbursed within the policy limits.

What Is Not Covered?
To avoid any misunderstanding, the following are outside the scope of the insurance:
- The insurance covers post-operative complications only
- Medical malpractice is not covered by this policy
- Physiotherapy and rehabilitation expenses are not covered
- Companion expenses, including the companion’s accommodation and transportation, are not covered
- Medications unrelated to the limb lengthening surgery, and additional treatments such as stem cell therapy, hydrotherapy, fractional laser treatment and electrotherapy, are not covered (if you have purchased our accommodation package, hydrotherapy is provided by us as an additional service)
- Supportive care unrelated to the surgery, such as IV drips or medications for blood sugar or blood pressure regulation, and examinations unrelated to the surgery
- Accommodation expenses if a medical report determines that the stay was not medically necessary.
How Does the Claim Process Work?
- If a complication occurs, you receive the necessary medical treatment first. You do not have to wait for the insurance company’s decision to be treated.
- You collect the required documents: the medical report describing the complication, treatment and surgery reports if any, original receipts for medical, accommodation and transportation expenses, your passport copies showing your entry to Turkey, and the policy number.
- The documents are sent to the insurance company. Documents must be notary certified, translated into English, and submitted together with the originals.
- The insurance company evaluates the claim within 10 days.
- If the claim is approved, the reimbursement is sent to your credit card or bank account.
