More than surgery.
A whole stay.
Surgery is a few hours. Recovery in Istanbul is a few months. Beyond the medical care, these are the specialists by your side, the comforts waiting in the building, and the days we get everyone out of it.

Mind and body, looked after
A psychologist and a dietitian are part of your package, at no extra cost. Tell your coordinator when you would like a session and it is scheduled around your physiotherapy.
Psychological counselling
Limb lengthening asks a lot of you mentally: the decision, the long middle weeks when the numbers move slowly, and the adjustment to your new height afterwards. A contracted psychologist can meet you before surgery to talk through expectations and during recovery when the days feel long. Sessions before you travel are held online.
Watch: What is height obsession, and how do you cope with it?

Dietitian follow-up
Protein, calcium and vitamin D matter while the bone consolidates, and reduced mobility makes it easy to gain weight or lose muscle. A contracted dietitian reviews your eating once a month and adjusts a simple plan you can follow from the apartment kitchen or the hotel restaurant.
Watch: How should limb lengthening patients eat?

Scar care after removal
Pin-site and incision marks fade considerably over the first year. We do not provide dermatology services; if you would like to treat the marks further, we recommend a consultation with a specialist dermatologist in Istanbul or at home, and your coordinator can help you arrange it.
Extended stay & companion
Staying longer than the 3-month package, or bringing a family member? Extra nights and a second bed in the recovery building or partner hotel are arranged through the travel agency.
The small things, already sorted
The things patients ask about most in the first week, all included with your stay in the recovery building. No extra charge, nothing to organise.

Patient welcome kit, 15 items
Packed and waiting in your apartment when you arrive: everything for the hospital stay and the first weeks of recovery, in three groups. Hygiene and grooming, clothing and towel, post-op care.

Laundry & cleaning, twice a week
Twice a week your apartment is cleaned and your clothes and bedding are collected, washed, dried and returned folded. With a fixator on, housework is the last thing you should be doing.

Walker, crutches, wheelchair
All mobility equipment you need is bought brand new for you and included in the package. Yours to keep and take home.

VIP transfers
Every trip between the recovery building and the hospital, for surgery, X-rays and follow-ups, in a private VIP vehicle with a team member, at no charge. Transfers are operated by Hemcar, a Group A travel agency (Ministry of Culture and Tourism certificate no. 12109).
Shopping, pharmacy & errands
Need something from the pharmacy or the supermarket? A team member picks it up and brings it to your door. And once your surgeon allows it, we take you to the mall ourselves.
Fully equipped kitchen & treats
Every apartment has a full kitchen with all utensils and appliances. Cook, order in through delivery apps, or walk to the supermarket a few minutes away. And every so often the team turns up with something sweet.
Unlimited high-speed internet
Fast Wi-Fi in every apartment and the common areas, with no data cap. Work remotely, call home, stream films through the long evenings.
Currency exchange
Bring cash in your own currency; a team member exchanges it at a reputable office and brings the lira back to you, at the day's rate, no commission from us.

24/7 support, nights included
Your coordinator's number works at 3 a.m. too, and a night duty team member is on call in the building. Pain, a question about the fixator, anything at all: call, and someone who knows your case answers.
Three months is a long time. We make it good.
Every month we bring the patients who are in Istanbul together: painting, food, boat trips, lake outings, a Japanese-inspired afternoon, a New Year's party. No charge, no obligation, and usually the best photos of the whole journey.

Questions about services
How do I book the psychologist or the dietitian?
Tell your coordinator, before you travel or at any point during your stay. Both are included in your package; sessions are scheduled around your physiotherapy programme, and the first psychology session can take place online before you fly.
Can a family member stay with me?
Yes. Companion accommodation in the recovery building or the partner hotel is arranged through the travel agency; ask your coordinator for availability and pricing for your dates.
Is the Istanbul excursion a guided tour?
It is an accompanied day out: a language-speaking member of our team comes with you, helps with transport, translation and access, and makes sure you are comfortable. It is not a guided tour and no touristic narration is given.
Who provides the medical and care services?
Surgery and hospital care take place at the contracted hospital. Physiotherapy, nursing and the optional specialist services are provided by contracted professionals under the plan set by your surgeon.
