Surgery is a few hours. Recovery in Istanbul is a few months. This page is everything that fills those months: the people who meet you at the airport, the nurse who changes your dressings, the specialists you can add, and the days we get everyone out of the building.
Already taken care of
Twelve things you never have to organise yourself. They come with the 3-month recovery packages; complication insurance comes with the surgery package itself.
Add what you need
Specialist services you can add to any package. Ask your coordinator; you get a written quote and it is scheduled around your physiotherapy.
Psychological counselling
Limb lengthening asks a lot of you mentally: the decision, the long middle weeks when the numbers move slowly, and the adjustment to your new height afterwards. A contracted psychologist can meet you before surgery to talk through expectations and during recovery when the days feel long. Sessions before you travel are held online.

Dietitian follow-up
Protein, calcium and vitamin D matter while the bone consolidates, and reduced mobility makes it easy to gain weight or lose muscle. A contracted dietitian reviews your eating once a month and adjusts a simple plan you can follow from the apartment kitchen or the hotel restaurant.
Scar treatment
Pin-site and incision marks fade with time; fractional laser sessions at a contracted dermatology provider can make them visibly less noticeable. Planned after fixator removal. Quoted on request.
Extended stay & companion
Staying longer than the 3-month package, or bringing a family member? Extra nights and a second bed in the recovery building or partner hotel are arranged through the travel agency.
Care outside a package
Arranging your own accommodation? Physiotherapy, nurse visits, X-rays and medications can be booked session by session. Prices in the cost calculator.
Three months is a long time. We make it good.
Every month we bring the patients who are in Istanbul together: painting, food, boat trips, lake outings, a Japanese-inspired afternoon, a New Year's party. No charge, no obligation, and usually the best photos of the whole journey.

Questions about services
Which services are included in the recovery package?
The 3-month recovery packages (hotel or apartment) include accommodation, physiotherapy, nurse dressing changes, follow-up X-rays, medications, transfers, coordinator support, the welcome kit and the accompanied Istanbul excursion. Complication insurance is part of the surgery package itself. Use the cost calculator to see your configuration.
How do I add an optional service?
Tell your coordinator, before you travel or at any point during your stay. You receive a written quote, and the service is scheduled around your physiotherapy programme.
Can a family member stay with me?
Yes. Companion accommodation in the recovery building or the partner hotel is arranged through the travel agency; ask your coordinator for availability and pricing for your dates.
Is the Istanbul excursion a guided tour?
It is an accompanied day out: a language-speaking member of our team comes with you, helps with transport, translation and access, and makes sure you are comfortable. It is not a licensed guided tour with touristic narration.
Who provides the medical and care services?
Surgery and hospital care take place at the contracted hospital. Physiotherapy, nursing and the optional specialist services are provided by contracted professionals under the plan set by your surgeon. Wanna Be Taller coordinates all of it within the scope of its international health tourism authorization.
Are the monthly events free?
Yes. Events are organised by the team for patients staying with us; there is no charge to join.
Services are provided by contracted professionals and institutions within the scope of international health tourism (authorization certificate no. AK-0198). Travel services are provided by Hemcar, a Group A travel agency (certificate no. 12109). Optional services are quoted individually and are not part of the standard packages.
