According to the World Health Organization (WHO)’s research, the average height for a man in Europe is 5 feet 11 inches (180 cm), while the average height for a woman in Europe is 5 feet 5.9 inches (167 cm). Compared to the average height in the world, men in Europe are 1.5 inches (4 cm) and women in Europe are 1.4 inches (3.5 cm) taller.

According to the research that is published in the journal eLife, Portuguese men’s average height is the shortest male average in Europe, at 5 feet 7 inches (174 cm); while Maltese women’s average height is the shortest female average in Europe, at 5 feet 2.7 inches (160.8 cm).
