Cosmetic Femoral Shortening Journey

In July 2024, one of our valued patients underwent cosmetic femoral shortening, achieving a height reduction of -4.1 cm. Her pre-operative height was 172 cm, and she now stands at 167.9 cm. While the personal reasons behind her decision to shorten her height remain private, what stands out is her overwhelming satisfaction with her new, shorter stature.

Smooth Recovery and Care

Throughout her journey, our patient received exceptional care, from her warm welcome upon arrival to her smooth discharge. Post-surgery, she chose to stay at our affiliated hotel for 1 month and 8 days. Although the recommended stay for optimal recovery is typically 2.5 to 3 months, her quick recovery exceeded our expectations.

Physiotherapy for Faster Recovery

The first two months of recovery are critical for ensuring physical stability and managing potential complications, but our patient’s progress was remarkable. Thanks to her diligent efforts in physiotherapy and her natural advantage of having less muscle density in her upper legs, she faced minimal muscle imbalance. While many patients struggle with increased upper leg thickness due to muscle accumulation post-surgery, our patient’s experience was smoother. Within 4 weeks, she transitioned to crutches, a significant milestone typically achieved between 6 and 7 weeks post-operation.

Monitoring Bone Healing

Her recovery was free from infections or any other minor complications, and her radiant positivity left a lasting impression on both staff and fellow patients. Follow-up X-rays taken during her stay revealed excellent bone healing, further confirming the success of her procedure.

 

Before her departure, she received detailed instructions from our medical team on the next steps in her recovery. She will continue to provide us with updates and follow-up X-rays, which are essential for monitoring bone healing and ensuring long-term success.
